Blazers knock off Raptors

UNDATED (AP) — The Portland Trail Blazers had lost six of their previous seven games before going into Toronto and knocking off the defending NBA champs.

Carmelo Anthony capped his 28-point performance by nailing the tiebreaking basket with four seconds left in the Blazers’ 101-99 triumph over the Raptors. Damian Lillard had 20 for the Trail Blazers, who had lost in their last four visits to Toronto and eight of their previous nine meetings with the Raptors overall.

Hassan Whiteside added 14 points and 16 rebounds for Portland, which bounced back from Sunday’s loss at Miami.

Kyle Lowry had 24 points and 10 rebounds for the Raptors, but he missed a 3-point attempt at the buzzer.
