Jimmy Carter Needed Stitches After Falling at His Home

Former President Jimmy Carter required stitches after falling at his Plains, Ga., home on Sunday, the Carter Center said.

The center said that Mr. Carter, the oldest living former president in United States history, “feels fine” and looked forward to attending the opening ceremony of a Habitat for Humanity project in Nashville on Sunday evening.

The 39th president, a Democrat who served from 1977 to 1981, needed stitches above his brow, according to his nonprofit organization. Mr. Carter, who is known for his longevity and humanitarian work since leaving office, turned 95 on Tuesday.
