Israel Says Rashida Tlaib Can Visit to See Her Grandmother

JERUSALEM — A day after Israel, egged on by President Trump, refused entry to two members of Congress, the Israeli government said on Friday that it would allow one of the lawmakers, Representative Rashida Tlaib, to enter on humanitarian grounds so that she could see her 90-year-old grandmother, who lives in the occupied West Bank.

The government on Thursday denied entry to Ms. Tlaib and Representative Ilhan Omar, the first Muslim women in Congress, because they have supported the Boycott Divestment and Sanctions movement against Israel.

President Trump tweeted earlier Thursday that “it would show great weakness if Israel” allowed the two women to enter.
