A loose network of conservatives says it has dossiers of offensive social media posts and other problematic public statements by hundreds of journalists. These allies of President Trump are targeting journalists whose coverage of the White House they find hostile.

Mr. Trump characterizes himself as a master deal maker who gets what he wants. But as he tries to pressure the Federal Reserve to lower interest rates, he is contending with a powerful opponent: technocrats.

Calling Mr. Trump “completely unfit,” Joe Walsh, a conservative radio host, is challenging the president in a Republican primary. His strategy? Adopt a television-centric strategy to try to rattle a media-obsessed president.
