If You Could Ask the Democratic Candidates One Question, What Would It Be?

The New York Times and CNN will co-host the next Democratic debate, on Oct. 15, at Otterbein University in Westerville, Ohio — the first presidential campaign debate that The Times has planned and hosted in more than a decade.

What do you hope the candidates will discuss? What issue do you think didn’t get enough attention at previous debates?

The Times’s National editor, Marc Lacey, will moderate the debate alongside the CNN anchors Anderson Cooper and Erin Burnett. He has been busy preparing for the debate and would like to hear from Times readers.

What do you think Marc should ask the candidates? Submit your idea below. We can’t promise that he will choose your question (or anyone else’s, for that matter), but we’ll share a selection of the best ones with him.
