Cheryl and Paul Molesky were passengers on board the Diamond Princess cruise ship when their holiday was interrupted by news of the coronavirus outbreak.
Over the next month, they kept their friends and family updated through a video diary, which charted the highs and lows of life on lockdown.
The BBC followed their journey from Japan to their home in Syracuse, New York.
